If you work on your client's website, your main goal is to find domains that are topically relevant so you can rebuild content, capture existing authority signals, or strengthen your client's niche presence.

Typical SEO Goals

If you work on your client's website, your main goal is to find domains that are topically relevant to your client's niche:

  • Find expired domains that already ranked for keywords related to your client's niche/topic

  • Find domains that can support contextual backlinks or content clusters for your client

So that you can:

  • Rebuild content on the new domain for your client

  • Build backlinks to your client's existing sites

  • Redirect content to your client's site

  • Leverage existing authority signals for your client

  • Build small supporting sites around your client's topic

  • Strengthen your client's niche presence

How to achieve it in UpSnatch

To do this, you can use the following strategies:

GoalHow to achieve it in UpSnatch
Find client-relevant domains
topical relevance
Use Magic Search. Start with a broad version of your client's niche (e.g., dog training, home insurance), then refine with intent (services, product types, subtopics, brands, locations). The goal is to build a shortlist that clearly matches the client's business and audience.
Find stronger domains
authority signals
Filter on Backlinks and Domain Age. If available, add Pageviews > 0 to prioritize domains with signs of existing demand.

In Expert Mode, use Citation Flow (0–100: quantity of links) and Trust Flow (0–100: quality of links) to prioritize stronger profiles. As a rule of thumb, consider minimums such as Trust Flow ≥ 10 and Citation Flow ≥ 15, and adjust per client and niche.
Find safer domainsSet Spam Quality to at least OKAY or GOOD and exclude Adult Content.

In Expert Mode, apply a minimum TF/CF ratio (Trust Flow ÷ Citation Flow). Opinions vary; as a guideline: aim for 0.3–0.4 or higher for conservative client work, or go down to around 0.2 if you're willing to review more borderline cases.

Then open Wayback from Domain Details to verify the domain hasn't been abused recently and that the historical content aligns with the client's topic.
Build a client shortlist
review & handoff
Use the bookmark icon to add domains to Favorites. Review them in batches, then export (CSV) if you need to share a shortlist internally or with the client, or to move candidates into your agency's pipeline tools.
Move fast on deadlinesSort by End Time to prioritize auctions or closeouts that are ending soon. This is especially useful when you're sourcing domains on a tight campaign timeline.
Monitor a client niche dailyCreate a Domain Alert for the client's broad niche (and optionally key service/location terms). You'll receive daily emails with newly available domains that match the alert query.
